PAS MOSFET Output Buffer Kit

Description

Make your new Dynakit or original Dynaco PAS preamplifier compatible with any amplifier, including solid state amps. Originally the PAS preamp was designed to work with amplifiers having a high input impedance like the Dynaco ST-35, ST-70, MKIII, MK IV and many others of this same era. The stock PAS ideally needs to see an impedance load of 470K Ohms or higher. Most solid state amps and many of today’s modern tube amps have a much lower input impedance. Trying to use a stock PAS with a low impedance amp just does not work well and just sounds terrible. Even the PAS-3X would only work well with with amps having an input impedance of 150K or higher.

Adding our MOSFET Output Buffer to your PAS will correct the impedance mismatch automatically. No switches and/or adjustments needed. Simply install the the buffer module between PC-5 Line Stage and your audio output jacks. Now you can enjoy your PAS preamplifier with most any amplifier type with uncompromised performance.

Our MOSFET Buffer kit includes the buffer circuit board, all components, hookup wire and mounting hardware. Also provided is a comprehensive (12) page installation manual with pictorials and color photos. This is an intermediate level kit which requires competent soldering experience.

Please Note: We strongly recommend replacing your original PA-211 transformer with our new improved PA-211-B. The additional current draw for our MOSFET Buffer although only 3.6 mA may cause your (50) + year old transformer to fail.

Also: Our MOSFET Buffer is intended for installation in a working PAS preamplifier only….It will not miraculously correct pre-existing problems in your PAS unit.
